What is an investor looking for in an executive summary?

In the first instance you should submit to us a carefully prepared executive outline summary. This should consist of one or two pages (maximum three) which includes as much of the following relevant information as possible:-

• Project Description

• Key Objectives

• Location

• Total Value (and basis for such)

• Current state status (eg: start up, development, buy out, merger etc)

• Description of any assets held or proposed

• Status of any permissions and/ or licences

• Key management experience

• Owners present corporate structure & domiciliation

• Present capital and financial base

• Present debt (if any)

• Expected gross sales amount/ turnover

• EBIT summary (projected earnings before interest and tax)

• Expected per cent ROI (per cent return on investment)

• Exit strategy for investors (if one exists)

• Security available or offered (if any)

• Total amount of funding required over what period

• Percentage equity offered (if proposed)

• Any other information considered relevant

You need to state whether you are the project principal or shareholder; or acting as consultant or agent. If acting as consultant or agent please confirm whether you are retained by your client or are requiring us to make a future provision for your fees or commission if we decide to proceed.

An Executive Summary is ALL we require initially. At this stage we do NOT require a complete business plan and we do NOT require you to send us any confidential documents unless you wish to do so. However we can assure you of our complete discretion and confidentiality. All we are looking for in the above information is a viability factor which if we consider it to be there we will contact you and send you our standard confidentiality agreement so we can discuss with you the next steps and any relevant options.
